I have had a headache for a week and half now, i wake up with it and it doesnt go away, what should

I do not drink any caffiene. Lately, i have been drinking 5 or 6 20oz of water every day, way more than i ever have before, i am just so thirsty. I am not doing anything different with my physical activity or eating habits. Any help would be great.

I'm thinking allergies. This is spring and there is all kinds of stuff floating in the air. Often times people that are allergic to certain pollens don't even know it. There are some good over-the counter meds (claritan, zyrtec). If you go to an allergist they can find exactly what you are allergice to and treat for those. People are often surprised at the things they are allergic to and how good the feel once they get treatment

You need to get your blood sugar levels checked. Low blood sugar after a fast can cause a headache, and this also could be why you have been drinking more water.
For an accurate answer. You really should go to the doctor.
Get as much sleep as possible, keep drinking a lot of water but there is such thing as too much...Kidney failure, etc.

And check in with a doctor as soon as you get a chance.
i have heard about people having this if they are trying to consume a lot of water in order to lose weight, if this is the case, go back to the normal recommended 10 glasses a day and start a different weight loss program. if it still continues, see a doctor.
Get a script for migraines : Imitrex, Zomig...make sure to eat food! Change of weather phuks with you too.
Have you tried taking any Tylenol or Advil and if you have and the medicine isn't helping you should go to the Doctor and see what they tell you cause having a headache more than a week must really suck I don't even like for them to last even 5 min
Hmmm. Well as someone mentioned seeing a doctor is a good start to get yourself a physical for piece of mind. They will be able to give you a blood test and check for whatever it is they feel they need to look for based on what you tell them.

I would also try light "therapy".

Sometimes too much or too little light exposure will cause these types of headaches to occur or getting the wrong amounts of light during times when we do use it.

For example during the day do you keep your blinds or curtains open? This is pretty important. However if you do, is it bright and directly on or in your face and eyes? That could be causing your eyes to strain thus causing bad headaches.

ON the other hand if your leaving the blinds or drapes shut you may not be getting enough light and your place is too dim and you are not able to see clearly enough and this too can cause people headaches.

Light usage in our homes from the bulbs we use. Are you using the correct wattage? I know i was using too high a wattage in my bulbs and it was causing major headaches not to mention my eyes were burning. I had to change them out and buy some really good lamp shades as well. Some people are very sensitive to light and their brains act differently to stimuli.

Same as when you go outside. Be sure to wear shades that have that have the proper uv protection in them and if necessary a loose fitting hat that might cover your face as well.

I don't know these are simply things to try to see if there is any type of relation to to the light sensitivity and the headaches. I know there certainly is for me.

Also noise in the home. I have had to cut down on the noise pollution in my home. I cannot have the tv on and be working on the computer at the same time. I have to be doing one or the other. Or for example if i am on the phone i have to turn the radio down or close my computer.

It just seems like there is too much stimuli going on around us... light waves you know?

Good luck. It may be something small and hopefully you don't need any kind of medication therapy.

Try to stay away from water containing sodium such as Dasani. Pure water is best until you find the source of the headache and unless you are working out on a regular basis to really flush your system.
Aloha~

1st, yer NOT drinkin enuff water! Drink more chilled water!

2nd ~ Some people call them 'pain relievers', I use aspirin!

Aspirin is one of the most frequently used drugs in the treatment of mild to moderate pain, including that of migraines and fever. It is often combined with other analgesics, even though this has never been shown to be more effective or less toxic than aspirin alone. Aspirin has, however, been used in addition to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and opioid analgesics in the treatment of pain associated with cancer

In high doses, aspirin and other salicylates are used in the treatment of rheumatic fever, rheumatic arthritis, and other inflammatory joint conditions. In lower doses, aspirin also has properties as an inhibitor of platelet aggregation, and has been shown to decrease the incidence of transient ischemic attacks and unstable angina in men, and can be used prophylactically. It is also used in the treatment of pericarditis, coronary artery disease, and acute myocardial infarction. Low doses of aspirin are also recommended for the prevention of stroke, and myocardial infarction in patients with either diagnosed coronary artery disease or who have an elevated risk of cardiovascular disease.

I use aspirin everyday, all the time.

"Take two aspirin %26amp; call me in the morning." [Yeah, righty- oh...skip da call!]

Best wishes~
I have had a headache for 2 years straight. It could so many different things. I suggest going to see the doctor. A lot of the time it can be dental situations, and your doctor will not talk to you about it unless you bring it up. I could go on for a while but just go see the doc. :)
See a doctor. My cousin use to have constant headaches like this. He would also complain that the back of his eyes were hurting. It turned out that he had some kind of infection and he had a lot of fluid in his brain. This fluid build-up also caused his eyes to hurt. Don't know how...but that what the Dr. said. He had to do immediate brain surgery to remove fluid then he suffered from seizures afterwards. He spent almost a month in the hospital. He's better now but he has a long scar to show. Please go see a Dr. before it's too late. Good Luck!!
Alright, there are many people that suffer with chronic headaches. You really should go to a doctor to be checked out because it could be something serious. Some home remedies and ways to get rid of headaches are listed below.

1. Ibprofen/Advile

2. Try staying in a cool dark room with and ice pack on your head, and sleeping for a long time. You may not be getting enough sleep.

3. York peppermint patties, they have been proven to get rid of headaches

4. Powerade/Gatorade

This headache could also be seasonal. You know from allergies. It is called a sinus headache, i get them during the spring because everything is in bloom.

Main Causes:

1. lack of sleep

2. Something is seriously wrong

3. Allergies

4. Dehydration

5. Stress

I hope this helps and I recommend that you see a doctor immediatly.

I Wish You Well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
